Bob Leonard – QB
1966 The Dragons of 1966 were in the more than capable hands
at QB Bob Leonard as he guided the offensive unit through the last undefeated season for Niles through one of the most competitive
schedules in Niles history up to that date.
Bob Leonard accounted for 100 of the 306
points Niles scored and had a pass completion percentage of 46.7. His ability to stand up to pressure and guide the Dragons
through turmoil was insurmountable to the success of the 1966 Dragons.

First Team, All Ohio and the Ohio North/South All Star headed for the University of Cincinnati

Joe Connell a stalwart at DT in his junior and senior years
(1976-77). He earned All American Conference First Team (DT) 1976,
All Trumbull County First Team (DL) 1977, All American Conference First Team (DT)
1977. He attended Eastern Montana.

Ron Ritz FB 1989 #35
The most prolific Full Back ground gainer in Niles history
averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Against Hubbard, Ron ignited for six touchdowns and 345 yards, a 19.1 average per carry still
one of the best single game performances in Niles history.
A 71-yard burst for a TD vs. Hubbard his personal
best.
Ron combined with Rob Leasure to be one of the very
few Niles backfield men to both run for over 100 yards in one game and that was
against Warren Harding.
Ron Ritz one of 8 Dragons to rush over 1,000 yards,
All Trumbull County First Team, All American Athletic Conference First Team, Trumbull County Coaches Association Player of
the Year Nominee, All Northeastern Ohio First Team and All Ohioan.

Lonnie Baker, Niles quarterback
in 1982 and 1983 while Niles was a member of the Steel Valley Conference. Lonnie is one of two quarterbacks to pass over 1,000
yards in one season and was the first to accomplish that feat in 1982. He is second in most yards passed in a single season
and number one career with 1,849 yards. He has in a career passed for 15 touchdowns with 11 in one season. Both ranks number
two on single and career list and had a 42.8 completion rate.
